NIHR praises HRH Premier’s integrated development vision

Manama: Oct. 6 – (BNA)– The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) applauded the awarding of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister the prestigious Award for Excellence in Urban Development for the year 2006 in recognition of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ability to produce an urbane example to be followed in development and progress.


The National Institution for Human Rights praised His Royal Highness the Prime Minister’s funding the Award for Best Researchers contributions in the field of human development emanating from a firm belief in the role undertaken by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme – UN-HABITAT – and its great impact on the life of peoples.

In its statement marking the World Habitat Day which coincided with 1st October, the Institution praised the outstanding integrated vision for development adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and commended in regional and international reports for many years.

The Institution urged the Government to continue its efforts in development and urbanization and to determinedly proceed with finalization of infrastructure projects within available limits in order to boost comprehensive development of quality education, health, housing projects and citizens’ livelihood in all aspects.

The statement added that the NIHR shares these celebrations alongside with the world’s specialized organizations in line with the United Nations’ noble purposes, objectives and aspirations towards a more secure, peaceful and prosperous world. (IY)
