NIHR’s president meets German Ambassador

Manama, July 9 (BNA) – President of National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Dr. Abdulaziz Abel today met with Ambassador Sabine Taufmann of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain.


Dr. Abel briefed Ambassador Taufmann on the NIHR’s role in bolstering and developing human rights in the kingdom of Bahrain, and the procedures followed by the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee, as well as the NIHR’s General-Secretariat’s Complaints Office, in addition to means of handling citizens and residents’ complaints before discussing them with the government bodies.

Joint cooperation and benefiting from German experiences in the field of human rights were reviewed.

The meeting was attended by NIHR’s Deputy President and Chairman of Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Abdulla Ahmed Al-Drazi, Chairman of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Dr. Fawziah Saeed Al-Sahleh, Executive Director of Joint Resources and Services Yassir Al-Shirawi, Director Legal Affairs Department Yassir Ghanim Shaheen.
