MANAMA: Bahrain does not discriminate between citizens on the basis of their sects or ethnic origins, the Premier said yesterday.
“In Bahrain, we are all closely-knit and loving brothers, living together in an atmosphere of co-existence and tolerance,” he said.
He accused collaborators, who sold their souls to enemy regimes, of sowing the seeds of hatred and division and spreading allegations and lies.
“Bahrain will never be a fertile land for collaborators, who take orders from hostile regimes seeking to destabilise our kingdom and undermine its unity,” he said.
This came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace officials, scholars, businessmen, journalists, NGO representatives and citizens.
He affirmed that doors would remain open for all citizens without any discrimination, adding that citizens’ voices are being heard and heeded.
He commended constructive criticism which does not emanate from personal designs and extended his hand to all parties keen on co-operation for the sake of national interests.
The Premier urged vigilance to overcome political challenges, and said Bahrain was only the beginning of a plot targeting the whole region.
He paid tribute to loyal people who always stand united to foil designs targeting their security and stability.
“There is no fear as we have enough internal support and regional backing,” he said.
He urged a strong and unified GCC stance, stressing the need for member countries to support each other.
He also hailed the decision of Saudi Arabia – led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – to reject a UN Security Council non-permanent seat.
The Premier commended the national Press and paid tribute to businessmen for spearheading development.
He rejected foreign interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs and urged citizens to join ranks and defend their achievements.
“All attempts to drive wedges and sow divisions between citizens are doomed to fail,” he said.
The Premier urged dedication for the sake of Bahrain’s present and future and urged an awakening to construct and promote national development.
