This is with reference to the report “Bahrain deal with Russia upsets US” (May 2). I fail to understand why the United States gets upset over such issues.
Every nation has the right to carry out business with countries of its choice. Why does the US want other countries to act as its satellite states? Washington did not care about the concerns of Gulf countries over the Iranian nuclear deal.
It has no right to criticize Bahrain or any other country for dealing with Russia. I believe that Gulf countries should form new alliances with other countries. They must keep in mind their national interests.
The United States, rightly though, acts in its national interest. It must not criticize others for doing the same. — Shabbir Ahmed, Dammam
