Oman Air celebrates 10 years of Bahrain flight

Muscat: Oman Air recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of its Bahrain service with a series of exciting events involving international diplomats, staff, travel agents and other valued partners.

The celebrations started when Oman Air’s Bahrain sales staff and GSA partners gathered at the airline’s offices in the Bahraini capital of Manama to hold a ceremonial cutting of a specially-branded birthday cake.

A similar ceremony took place at the Bahrain International Airport, where Oman Air’s staff was joined by representatives from Bahrain Airport Services and the civil aviation authorities.

The celebrations continued at the Sofitel  Hotel in an impressive fashion with senior managers from Oman Air being joined by ambassadors from a number of embassies, business leaders and the media.

This event was hosted jointly with the Thai Embassy and Sofitel, with whom a series of promotions were also planned as part of the Thai Week, which ran during the same period. The guests at the event included not only travel agents, but also VIPs and local media representatives.

A glittering awards ceremony is planned to be held at the five-star Sheraton Hotel later this month to recognise the contributions and commitment of Bahrain’s travel agents in ensuring the success and growth of Oman Air’s Bahrain service over the last decade.

Abdulrazaq Alraisi, Chief Commercial Officer, Oman Air commented: “Since Oman Air launched its service between Muscat and Bahrain ten years ago, the success of the route, and of Oman Air itself, has grown significantly. We now operate up to three flights a day between the two destinations, utilising superb Embraer 175 and Boeing 737 aircraft and offering award-winning hospitality on every flight.

“We are extremely proud, therefore, to celebrate the tenth anniversary and we would like to thank all those whose invaluable hard work, commitment and support have made the service such a success. We look forward to welcoming many more customers aboard our aircraft here in Bahrain.”

Oman Air is the flagship carrier of the Sultanate of Oman and an Official 4 Star Airline (Skytrax 2011). Founded in 1993, the airline has since witnessed massive growth and has played a major role in making Muscat an important traffic hub in the Middle East.
