Oman records lowest Aug inflation in GCC

Among the other states, Kuwait posted an inflation rate of 3.84 per cent, followed by Saudi Arabia at 2.1 per cent, Bahrain at 1.7 per cent, and Qatar at 1.2 per cent.

On a month-on-month basis, UAE’s rate was up 0.92 per cent, Bahrain by 0.6 per cent, Qatar by 0.5 per cent, Saudi Arabia by 0.4 per cent, and Kuwait by 0.29 per cent. By contrast, the sultanate’s inflation rate fell 0.14 per cent.

Compared to last year, prices in the ‘Food and Beverage’ group increased 5.62 per cent in Kuwait, 2.9 per cent in Bahrain, 2.1 per cent in Saudi Arabia, 1.9 per cent in Qatar, and 0.64 per cent in UAE. Prices of this group fell in Oman by 0.89 per cent.
