One-third of annual rain in one day

Bahrain experienced more than a third of its annual average rainfall in just one day last month.

On November 25, 25.2mm of rain fell according to official figures – or 36 per cent of the 70.8mm yearly average.  

In total, 29mm of rain fell last month, making it eight times wetter than an average November.

The Transportation and Telecommunication Ministry’s Meteorological Directorate monthly report, issued yesterday, also revealed that the average temperature last month was 1C above the long-term normal at 25.3C, with eight days where temperatures exceeded 30C. 

The lowest temperature recorded was 17.8C on November 25 at Bahrain International Airport.
