Gaza health officials say more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing Gaza war as Israel battles Hamas militants and that more than 100 bodies were recovered yesterday even as Israel agreed to extend a humanitarian ceasefire with Hamas for four hours as diplomats worked to create a longer truce. Hamas has said there would be no truce extension.
