Wednesday, December 30, 2015 – Islamabad—President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy close and fraternal relations which are rooted in common faith, culture and history.
The President said this while talking to Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Javed Malik, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday.
The President stated that Pakistan wishes to enhance its relations with Bahrain in all fields of mutual interest including defence. The President stated that Pakistan attaches great significance to its relations with the countries of Gulf Region adding that efforts should be made for further increasing Pakistan’s relations with other countries in the region.
The President emphasized that new vistas and avenues be explored to further enhance the bilateral trade for the mutual benefit of two countries asked him to make maximum efforts to conclude Pak-GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The President advised the ambassador-designate to maintain close liaison with the Pakistani community in Bahrain and redress their grievances if any.
The President congratulated Mr. Javed Malik on his appointment as ambassador to Bahrain and hoped that his appointment will further strengthen Pakistan’s relations with Bahrain.
