Pakistani singer Mehnaz Begum’s body reaches Karachi from Bahrain

Karachi: The body of famous Pakistani singer Mehnaz Begum, who died at the age of 54 in Bahrain on Saturday after severe illness, has reached at Karachi Airport, here on Monday.

According to family sources, his funeral will be held at Imam Bargah Ancholi in Karachi after Zohar prayers on Monday (today). She will be laid to rest in Wadi-i-Hussain graveyard in Sohrab Goth area of the city.

Mehnaz Begum was a ghazal, thumri, drupad, nohas, salam genres of songs while also famous in other kinds of songs as well.

According to reports, she has scheduled to go for United States for treatment, but in Bahrain she ends up her life.

Her mother, Kajjan Begumwas also famous sub-continental singer and her father, Abdullah Tasnim was a well known government officer.
