"Paradise Sparrow" Hobbyists Club: the first in Bahrain

Manama, June 19 – (BNA): Feathered friends namely the “zebra finch” have attracted fans and lovers in the Kingdom of Bahrain who have formed their own club.

The gorgeous sparrow is 6-10 centimetres long and weighs 14-28 grammes in average. The bird’s original habitat is the Australian continent. This species of birds are quite known for their soft melodious signing and quick free movement hither and thither in open spaces.

Club member Mohammed Al-Najim said the 94-member strong club was originally conceived by amateur lovers and breeders of this sociable species. Being the first of its type in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the club was established in 2013. The hobby is found in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Kingdom, Holland, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates amongst others.
