Manama, Sep 6 (BNA) — Parliament Speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, today praised the project of constructing the second causeway to link Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which has been welcomed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia during meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday in Jeddah.
Al-Dhahrani expressed deep appreciation and gratitude of the people of Bahrain to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his historical initiative to name it the King Hamad Causeway.
He said that this vital project reflects the interest of the two monarchs to serve the Gulf Cooperation Council’s countries and people.
He explained that reinforcing cooperation and developing integration among sisterly countries is reached by holding large-scale projects, and that the construction of King Hamad Causeway translates the wise future vision towards GCC unity, supporting economic movement and expanding horizons of cooperation.
He lauded the leading role of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HM the King in achieving Gulf people’s hopes and aspirations.
