THE Premier has called for more efforts to form Gulf Union – the “only option available in light of the current regional and global developments that pose a serious threat to GCC countries”.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday received at Gudaibiya Palace Ruling Family members and senior officials.
He highlighted the progress and development witnessed by the kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.
He also emphasised the prestigious international status Bahrain enjoys, thanks to its milestone achievements, and the government’s efforts to enhance political, economic and social development.
The Premier affirmed the government’s tireless efforts to optimise development gains that benefit the homeland.
“Some sides tried to take advantage of the openness prevailing in Bahrain to interfere into its internal affairs, but the Bahraini society has rejected such interference categorically,” he said, stressing that whoever backs those attempts lacks patriotism and therefore will not be accepted by members of the close-knit Bahraini society. He urged people to draw lessons from what is happening in some countries whose development process has been undermined by conflicts.
