Bahrain: The Premier’s key role in promoting sustainable development has made Bahrain a model for other countries, a top UN official said yesterday.

UN Assistant Secretary General and UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) deputy executive director Dr Aisha Kacyira also paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for winning four highly prestigious UN awards in recognition of his diligent efforts to implement comprehensive housing policies, fast track urban development and reduce poverty. 

This came as the Premier met Dr Kacyira and her high-profile delegation, who are in Bahrain to attend the programme’s meeting on strategic partnership with Bahrain.
