NEW DELHI, Dec 15 (APP): Pakistan Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Saturday said there is a growing interaction between Pakistan and India as their joint efforts in eliminating menace of terrorism would help bring peace and stability in the region.He said “Both sides are facing scourge of terrorism and extremism and suffered financial as well as precious human lives loss and it is the time that we should make efforts for peace and root out the menace of terrorism to ensure secure atmosphere for the coming generations”.Addressing a lunch hosted in his honour by President Confederation of Indian Bar, Pravin H Parekh, he said relations with India are improving and added it was now necessary to forget the dark days.

Tearful Obama seeks meaningful action after school shootings

WASHINGTON, Dec 15 (APP): President Barack Obama has called for “meaningful action” to prevent tragedies like Friday’s school shootings in Connecticut as he made an emotional statement after a gunman killed 26 people including 20 children at an elementary school.Obama was reacting to the tragic shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, where a gunman, later identified as 20-year-old Adam Lanza, went on a shooting rampage, killing defenseless children as young as five and their teachers including the principal. A CBS report, citing police, sadi it’s clear that the gunman was on a mission to kill as many people as possible. Before attacking schoolchildren, Lanza is believed to have killed his mother, who was a teacher at the same school.A tearful Obama told Americans:”Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well, for as blessed as they are to have their children home tonight, they know that their children’s innocence has been torn away from them too early, and there are no words that will ease their pain,” he said, wiping his eyes.
