Manama, Oct. 9 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), will patronise the ArtBahrain Expo, which will be held at the Bahrain Bay from Monday, October 12 and run until October 16, 2015.
The ArtBahrain team expects the event to be a meeting place for artists, gallerists, cognoscenti and art lovers from around the world to share space, ideas and inspiration with local artist, giving the fact that Bahrain has a refined appreciation and talent for art and artists, which makes it a great location for hosting such a prestigious an international art fair.
ArtBahrain will go a long way in encouraging individuals and companies to invest in art and showcase the kingdom’s civilisational image through taking interest in arts.
To be held for the first time in the kingdom, ArtBahrain will attract about 200 acclaimed world artists, including the leading world artist Sacha Jafri, who will exhibit one of his best 48 art works between 1996 and 2014 in one place for the first time.
A number of galleries will take part in the fair, including the UK-based Albemarle Gallery, Al Riwaq, from Bahrain, the Arab Fine Arts Hall in Saudi Arabia,Marsam Mattar (Dubai Art Gallery) and the Marsa Gallery from Tunisia.
ArtBahrain will be open for art lovers from 11:00 to 19:00, and will exhibit various forms of art including classic painting classic “Acrylic” colors, sculpture, digital photography, among others.
The fair features a series of interactive workshops and forums conducted by experts to encourage new collectors to interact with artists in order to know more techniques, and hone the skills of art lovers.
Held in partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Tamkeen, is sponsored by many sides such as the GHF financial group, the Bahrain Airport Company, the Bahrain Development Bank, Moda Mall, the Rolls Royce cars, the Four Season Hotel, DHL company, Miracle company, lavazza coffee and a number of leading media establishment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
