Public Security chief receives French delegation

Manama, May4 (BNA)Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Al-Hassan today received an emergency medical services (SAMU) delegation from France, currently on visit to Bahrain.

He stressed the importance of the visit as part of cooperation to exchange expertise relating to the national ambulance project and enhance rescue services in Bahrain, in line with the directives of Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

He highlighted the importance of implementing the multi-phased scheme by benefiting from the international expertise and skills. The project will be implemented through the establishment of a unified unit for ambulances that serve all ER sections as the ambulances will be stationed at all governorates.

Major-General Tariq Al-Hassan highlighted plans to implement the project in terms of buildings and training. The delegation presented a brief about the SAMU. The delegation visit includes meetings with the committee in-charge of the project and field visits to ER at government and private hospitals, in additions to meetings with concerned officials. Interior Ministry Health and Social Affairs Director Mohammed Al-Olayan attended. (MOI-Media Centre)
