Charles Russell Speechlys, a leading international law firm in Qatar, has appointed Paula Boast as a new partner within its construction practice.

Boast will build on the practice and offer expert advice across the sector, at a time where construction projects are gaining real momentum across the region. Boast will act on behalf of government and regulatory clients, project employers and developers, lenders and investors, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.

She will also advise key clients including Manateq, the economic zones company in Qatar and Barwa Real Estate.

Boast has considerable experience as a construction lawyer and has advised on a number of real estate and development projects in Bahrain and across the Middle East.

Boast’s previous clients have included Bahrain Airport, King Abdullah Medical City and the Bahrain National Assembly, and she also assisted the Bahrain Ministry of Works in the drafting and publication of its Standard Suite of Construction Contracts in 2009.

Boast is the Bahrain country coordinator for the Society of Construction Law (Gulf) having previously sat on the SCL Council in the UK. She is also currently the Vice Chair of Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF).

Simon Green, partner and head of the Qatar said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Paula to our growing Construction team especially at a time when the sector is experiencing such significant growth across the region. Paula’s extensive experience in the legal sector will be a huge asset to our firm, and ensure the growth and development of the practice.”

“The construction law market is highly competitive in the Gulf region, but such a huge hire, the calibre of Paula’s appointment, represents a serious statement of intent by the firm, and we look forward to working with her,” he added.

“Charles Russell Speechlys is a regional leader in the Construction and Real Estate sector and I look forward to working closely with the team to ensure positive momentum and growth within the practice as well as the wider firm,” said Boast.

“With such a thriving construction sector in Qatar, this is a very exciting time to be joining Charles Russell Speechlys, and I hope to be able to share my industry knowledge and expertise to further the success of the firm.” – TradeArabia News Service
