BAHRAIN’S television channels and radio stations announced their Ramadan line-up yesterday.
Presenters, actors and producers were present at the Press conference, which was hosted by the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) at Gulf Hotel’s Awal Ballroom.
Bahrain Television 44 previewed a trailer of the new shows that will air during the holy month, including cooking programmes, dramas, children’s shows and religious series.
Channel 55 will add four locally produced shows to its line-up this year.
They include ‘Ash’had’ which tells the story of people who converted to Islam after coming to Bahrain, and ‘Ghabgah’ which covers the gatherings that take place during Ramadan with a focus on the way the expat community celebrates the holy month in Bahrain.
Also playing this Ramadan will be an Indian romantic series called Lavaniya. “Including the programmes we usually have, we have around 10 shows,” said BTV 55 head Ahdeya Ahmed.
“Open talk will continue, memories will continue, lifestyle will continue as well as three other Islamic programmes.”
Bahrain Radio will also air a number of segments commemorating Ramadan.
