Manama, June. 29. ( BNA) – Under the patronage of the Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Director of the Directorate of Special Education Khalid Al Saidi attended here today a graduation ceremony at the Saudi-Bahraini Institute for the Blind of the academic year 2013/2014.
The graduates were 13 top students, 9 from secondary school and the University of Bahrain, 3 Quran memorisers as well as 40 of the Institute’s staff and 4 retirees, in the presence of the Institute’s Chairman Mohammed Al Jowder and Director Abdulwahid Al Khayyat.
Al Khayyt delivered a speech, in which he congratulated the graduates and thanked all who contributed and exerted efforts in order to educate the blind, praising the leadership’s and Ministry of Education’s constant interest in the blind since the establishment of the first educational monument for the blind on 1974.
He affirmed that the Institution is moving forward into providing various educational services in the Institution and schools, like printing books in Braille, offer special lessons and provide educational equipments.
He expressed thanks to the Ministry of Education for supporting the project of integrating the blind students, implementing the assistant teacher’s project, which provides a number of qualified teachers to help the blind students as well as allocating scholarships for these students.
