Saudi daily newspapers welcome the 33rd GCC Summit hosted in the Kingdom …

Manama: Dec. 25 — (BNA) The daily newspapers in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued this morning discussed in their editorials the 33rd GCC Summit currently being hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain which began yesterday at the Sakhir Palace, asserting that the Gulf Union has become a popular demand and a security and political exigency in order to fortify the region’s countries against unfavorable winds.

“Al-Sharq” daily newspaper in its editorial wrote that the speech orated by HRH Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was quite frank and similarly urged the GCC leaders to sincerely brainstorm themselves honestly and abstractly regarding the extent of appropriateness between the output of the GCC work and the aspirations of the GCC citizens, pointing out that the answer was given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in his own words was equally frank as he said that what has been achieved so far does not live up to aspirations and ambitions.

Manama Summit comes at a time when all of the GCC citizens are looking in anticipation at the dossier of moving from cooperation to unity, which is the sole instrument to bolster the efficiency of the Arabian Gulf’s organization so that its socio-economic and security output will satisfy all their needs.

“Okaz” daily newspaper pointed out that the 33rd GCC Summit convenes amidst extremely complicated economic, political and security upheavals which require serious stances in order to fend off damage and to safeguard the GCC, accomplishments and gains for the sake of the GCC peoples.

“Riyadh” daily newspaper enquired if the GCC Summit in Bahrain would come up with practical interaction and deeds without being crushed by previous excuses, fears or power conflicts in order transform the GCC into a Gulf Union which does not change the structure, independence, validity of any member state?

“Al-Bilad” saw that the staus quo necessitates more unification of visions in order to glean the future now 33 years since the creation of the GCC organization in 1981 which yielded in great accomplishments and countless successes.

“Al-Bilad” hoped that there will be a prompt response to the invitation and initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques by moving from the phase of cooperation into the phase of unification in order to satisfy the aspirations and ambitions of GCC citizens.((IY))
