Manama, Oct, 2 (BNA) – Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari, today, met with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif, to discuss the Kingdom of Bahrain’s report on the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

The meeting reviewed the Kingdom’s preparations on the discussion of the third official report, in February 2014, before the CEDAW Committee in Geneva, the current steps undertaken by the national team in the process of updating the data required prior to submit to the CEDAW Committee in a timely fashion and to be familiarized with the Committee’s mechanism during the debating.

The Kingdom of Bahrain joined CEDAW on 18 June 2002 and has been committed to the Convention at the level of the implementation of awareness programs to the Convention and preparation the periodic official reports on follow-up the implementation of the Convention.
