Manama, Jul. 14. (BNA) – Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and Deputy President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahm Al Khalifa received here yesterday the Chairman of the newly-appointed Board of Directors of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa, in the presence of board members and the BOC Secretary-General Abdulrahman Askar.
Shaikh Salman congratulated the Board Chairman and members on the trust bestowed upon them by the SCYS Chairman and BOC President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He stressed the important role played by the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation in providing care for disabled athletes, integrating them in the community, and motivating them to prove themselves and showcase their skills and talents.
He said that Bahrain’s national disabled sports teams had achieved landmark results, noting that the consolidation of those accomplishment requires sound planning, development of implementable plans and concerted efforts in order to attract more athletes and build up highly qualified national teams.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa lauded Shaikh Salman’s support to the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, pledging that the new Board of Directors will develop the disabled sport and achieve the aspirations of its affiliates.
