Second Bahrain retail fair held

The four-day second Bahrain retail fair and seminar was held this week at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Addressing the gathering, Nader Al Moayyed, undersecretary for Trade, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said that Bahrain has witnessed 10 per cent increase in floor space for exhibitions in 2013 as compared to last year. “The overall economic sentiment is turning more bullish as evidenced by the rise in number of commercial registrations,” the undersecretary said.
Abdulhameed Al Asfoor. managing director, AMG, said the auto sector was the new entry at the second edition. This resulted in a 30 per cent jump in overall floorspace, he added.
He projected a 20,000 visitor count for the current edition.
BBK announces launch of new range of products
BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, has announced the launch of a comprehensive new range of products under its bancassurance brand “Secura”.

Secura is being re-established as BBK’s comprehensive insurance brand and under it the bank is launching an exciting new range of general insurance products designed to meet all of the insurance needs of BBK customers.
The launch of the new products is made possible through BBK’s more than a decade old close collaboration with BKIC.
Seminar on awareness about diabetes
In line with its continued efforts towards looking after the health and welfare of its employees and the Bahraini community, Bapco’s medical services department, represented by the Health Promotion Section, recently organised a presentation on “Diabetes Mellitus Prevention and Adaptation”.
The session was held at the refinery cafeteria under the patronage of Bapco’s chairman of the board and acting chief dxecutive, Adel Khalil Almoayyed, and was attended by a large number of Bapco management staff and other employees.
During the event, the attendees learned more about Diabetes Mellitus and ways to tackle the illness, which is becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide due to the adoption of an unhealthy lifestyle.
Jawad Restaurant Division holds annual meeting
The Restaurant division of Jawad Business Group held its annual conference, “Forge Forward 2014” recently.
The conference focused on on how to overcome challenges in 2014.
The two-day meetimg was attended by teams representing leading brands from across the GCC including Papa John’s Pizza, Chili’s, Jamie’s Italian, Thai Express more.
Participation by the leading brands was welcomed as managers came together under one roof to exchange ideas in the meeting which included lectures and award ceremonies.
