Manama, July 8 (BNA) – First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) and President of the West Asian Athletics Federation (WAAF), Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the Asian accomplishment achieved by the Bahraini athletics team at the 20th Asian Championship, held in Bona, Indian, through occupying second place on the continent level and won 15 various medals, is a great motive towards greater achievements in future competitions.

President of WAAF praised the new Asian track records recorded by the Bahraini athletes in different competitions, and the qualification of five Bahraini athletes, through this competition, to the World Championships to be held in Moscow, August 2013.

Shaikh Khalid, who attended the 20th Asian Championship activities, explained that all of those indicators confirm Bahrain’s athletics is going the right way, and hoped such athletics achievements will continue in the next world championships, Ukraine, Russia, South Korea and the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil
