Manama- Oct3 (BNA) Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy Chairman and head of Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa today took part the Iron Man and Triathlon Championship, along with Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

Shaikh Khalid managed to secure the sixth position in the contest which was held at the Sofitel Hotel, clocking 59.00.35 minutes.

The two contests were held under the patronage of Southern Governor and International Federation of Bodybuilding Fitness vice-president Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al-Khalifa. Shaikh Khalid said that the race is part of preparations for the Iron Man Championship, scheduled to be held in the USA in November.

Shaikh Khalid then took part in honouring the top winners of the Iron Man championship and met young sportsmen on the sidelines of the ceremony. He commended the outstanding participation of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa in the race, which earned him the third position. He paid tribute to Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al-Khalifa for patronising the event.
