Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expresses pride in Bahrain’s sport achievements

Manama, Oct 6 (BNA) – HM the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has conveyed HM the King’s greetings to Bahrain sport mission participated in the 17th edition of Asian Games, concluded on 4 October 2014.

This came during receiving members of Bahraini sport mission at Bahrain International Airport, in the presence of SCYS First Deputy Chairman, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and a number of sport officials.

Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, in a speech addressed the sport mission, underlined Bahraini athletes’ historical achievements that wouldn’t have accomplished without HM the King’s continuing support for youth and sport movement.

He hailed the efforts made by Bahraini athletes, training and administrative staff who have contributed to boosting Bahrain’s sport standing at the Asian level, stressing resolve to translate same efforts in future international competitions.

He commended individual and team work spirit that brought about the remarkable results in various competitions, which underscore Bahrain’s extensive interest and support for Bahraini sport talents.

He noted the importance of intensifying training to enhance the achievements made and to add more at higher levels.

Bahrain has won 9 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals in an unprecedented achievement in the history of Bahrain’s participations in the Asian Games.
