Manama, Aug. 1 (BNA)—Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and Board of Trustees Chairman of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa stressed the importance of scientific researches in developing the sport momentum in Bahrain.


He was speaking as he received today members of the award’s technical committee which comprises Dr. Mohammed Sobhi Hasanin from Egypt, Dr. Sari Himdan from Jordan, Dr. Haza Al Haza from Saudi Arabia and Dr. Ahmed Al Sherif from the UAE.

Present were also Acting Secretary General of the Olympic Committee and Head of the award’s executive office Abdulrahman Askar, the award’s Secretary General Dr. Abdulrahman Sayar and members of the executive office Mohammed Loori and Dalal Salama.

Shaikh Salman welcomed the audience and conveyed to them the greetings of SCYS Chairman and Head of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

He underlined the importance accorded by Shaikh Nasser to the award and his keenness to further develop it in the future in order to comprise a bigger segment of Arab researchers.

He stressed Bahrain’s readiness to meet all the requirements the technical committee thinks are necessary to ensure continuity of the award and its development.

On their part, the committee members expressed happiness about the award Board of Trustees’ confidence and congratulated Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on his election as President of the Asian Football Confederation.

They also took pride in being part of the award’s administration, describing the award as an added value to sport development in Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
