KARACHI: In order to get maximum advantage of the presence of newly recruited coach Mohamed Shamlan of Bahrain, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has given him the additional charge of Director Technical.
”With immediate effect Mohamed Shamlan has been assigned the additional responsibilities of Director Technical. He will look after the development of national team, coaches’ education and youth development,” PFF said in a press release on Thursday.
“Shamlan is AFC Pro-License holder and has wide experience in international level football coaching. His induction as Director Technical will help PFF to bring qualitative improvement in the game of football in Pakistan,” it said.
The move to appoint Shamlan as Director Technical looks well thought out in order to save money and avoid criticism. Previously the federation was mainly relying on Sajjad Mehmood as Director Technical in spite of the fact that he was also acting as national coach.
