Shura President hails royal directives

Manama, Sept. 17 (BNA): The directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to form a smaller government have won backing.

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh hailed the royal move which aims at dealing with Bahrain’s current financial conditions which were affected by the oil price slump, in addition to other obligations.

“The step reflects the keenness of the wise leadership on adopting the necessary measures which would enhance the national economy in a way that preserves citizens’ interests and welfare”, he said.

Al-Saleh stressed the credentials of the national economy to withstand any crises and said the formation of the smaller cabinet in consultation with His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa would be an additional boost, hailing the Premier’s expertise and statesmanship.

Al-Saleh said that the Shura Council would cooperate fully with the smaller cabinet in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership and the hopes and ambitions of Bahrain people.

He commended the dedicated efforts of the His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to revitalize the national economy so as to overcome challenges amid acute oil price slump.

He voiced his confidence in the ability of Bahrain to preserve its achievements and ensure new gains thanks to HM the King’s wisdom. He expected the newly-formed smaller cabinet to take key decisions and steps which would enhance Bahrain’s financial and economic standard.
