SMEs ‘claim big share in Bahrain’s GDP’

There are more than 6,000 productive small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bahrain, representing a large share of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

They have contributed to the creation of thousands of jobs outside trade and contracting sectors. Bahrain has become a global model in the field of SMEs despite challenges, thanks to studies and consultations provided by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido), head of Unido-Investment and Technology Promotion Office Dr Hashim Hussein told our sister publication Akhbar Al Khaleej. – TradeArabia News Service
