Social Development Minister takes part in summit

London, June 13 (BNA)— Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima bint Mohammed Al Blushi led Bahrain’s delegation to the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict which was held yesterday in the British capital, London, under the patronage of British Foreign Secretary William Hague and the UN High Commissioner Special Envoy for Refugees Affairs Angelina Jolie.

The unprecedented summit , n which representatives of more than 150 countries and international organisations participated, aims to discuss ways of curbing sexual violence in conflicts and wars by launching an international protocol to hold the perpetrators accountable, punish them and provide assistance to the victims.


The Social Development Minister announced in her speech a donation by Bahrain Defence Force to the UN Fund Against Sexual Violence in Conflict.
