Sports Association for Handicapped celebrates National Day

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): The Bahrain Sports Association for Disabled Persons, chaired by Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, on behalf of himself, board of directors, players and association members has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and the loyal Bahraini people on the Kingdom’s 44th National Day and His Majesty the King’s 16th Accession Anniversary, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people further advancement and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
The festive event was organised under the patronage and in the presence of the Association’s Chairman, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, which included the participation of the Target Football Team in the preliminary rounds on Thursday at the gym hall of the Bahraini-Saudi Institute for the Blind. The football team of academically-retarded played at the association’s gym hall for disability in Riffa city, followed by the preliminary competitions of the basketballers-on-wheelchairs team in conclusion of the day’s festive activities

The basketballers-on-wheelchairs competitions saw the active participation of Al Hasa Club for persons with special needs. The 100-metre jogging contest in group “A” and group “B” besides athletics, weightlifting, bodybuilding contests also took place. The basketballers-on-wheelchairs contests included the target football contest for the blind,

Bahrain Credit (Tasheelat) volunteers undertook a key and effective positive role in the event.

The top three winners from each team were crowned and presented with acknowledgement and gratitude certificates from Bahrain Credit (Tasheelat) and Al Hasa Club for Persons with Special Needs.
