Condemning the terrorist attack that targeted Al Anoud mosque in Dammam yesterday, killing four people, Bahrain warned that terrorism was a dangerous plague that posed an immense threat to all countries and peoples without exception or discrimination.
“Such terrorist acts aim to ignite sectarian and religious sedition among people before dragging them into subversive conflicts,” the kingdom said in a statement last night.
Offering its condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, Bahrain hailed the efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in combating terrorism regionally and internationally.
The kingdom affirmed its full support for the brotherly nation, backing all steps it takes to reinforce security and stability nationwide.
It asserted that Saudi Arabia’s security was an integral part when it came to preserving the stability of all Arab nations.
Bahrain Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said security has been stepped up at mosques across the country.
“The ministry will spare no effort to ensure the safety and security of worshippers across Bahrain,” he told Jaffari Endowment chairman Shaikh Mohsen Al Asfoor.
Shaikh Al Asfoor said that important steps had been taken at mosques run by the Jaffari directorate in co-operation with the Interior Ministry and other relevant authorities.
He pointed out that the directorate convened a meeting last Wednesday and decided to step up security measures at mosques.
The directorate urged women to avoid praying at mosques as a precautionary measure.
Shaikh Al Asfoor said that the Capital Governorate would be approached to ban cars from entering Manama during the festivities marking mid- Shaaban month.
Condemning the Dammam blasts, parliament chairman Ahmed Al Mulla said terrorists would never succeed in their efforts to divide the Saudi society.
On behalf of the parliament, he extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ bereaved families, lauding the Saudi Government’s measures to maintain the security and stability of its people.
The Shura Council reiterated its full-fledged support to Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people in facing the blatant infringement on their security, and the targeting of houses of worship.
Al Asala Islamic Society also strongly condemned the mosque bombing, expressing full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in defending its security and unity.-TradeArabia News Service
