The 38th ICA Conference takes place in Bahrain

Manama, Oct 21 (BNA) — Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Financial Markets Association (BFMA), Abdullah Dawood, asserted the 38th Interarab Cambist Association (ICA) Conference will be held under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, from 14 to 17 November 2013 and will present the optimal ways to deal with the new economic system and the role of Islamic banking in the after math of the global financial crisis, and will address the extent to which the Islamic banks affected by the global financial crisis.
He told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the conference will evaluate the experience of the Islamic banking system, affirming the conference will question the possibility of considering the Islamic banking system as a model to be emulated by banks around the world.

The conference will host the economist Dr. Nouriel Roubini, who predicted the global financial crisis before its occurrence, to talk about the future phase of the Middle East and Arab countries’ economic status, pointing out that the conference will review the available investment opportunities and economic situation in the region, he added.

The BFMA today organized, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, a press conference to announce for holding the 38th conference at the Kingdom of Bahrain next month.

The BFMA’s Chairman Hanadi Al-Asmi said the conference will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the fourth time and this year will be titled (The New Economic System in the next phase and Means of Adaptation), pointing out holding such significant economic conferences in Bahrain assist in bolstering economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and various countries, as well as exchanging experiences and emphasizing the importance of Bahrain as an important financial center in the Gulf region.
