Travelex’s new service to benefit Oman expats

Muscat: Travelex, the world’s leading foreign currency specialist, has launched a new money transfer service in the Sultanate of Oman that allows customers to send money directly to international bank accounts.

Travelex Money Transfer (TMT), which has proved to be hugely popular since its launch in Bahrain last year, enables customers in Oman to send cash to bank accounts in India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines within 24 hours for just OMR1.50.

Graham Flannery, director of Business Development at Travelex, said that the new service would make life easier for the thousands of customers who send money abroad each day.

“We’re delighted to be launching Travelex money transfer here in Oman. With more than a quarter of Oman’s population made up of expatriates, there is a huge need for international money transfer services in this market. We hope to develop the service further and launch new transfer corridors in the coming months. Having been trading in Oman for ten years now, this launch marks another important milestone for our business,” said Flannery.

Loyalty scheme
Customers using Travelex, the global expert in currency exchange, will also have the option of joining a Travelex loyalty scheme that allows them to make their sixth transaction absolutely free of cost.

“Remittances are a vital part of our business here in Oman, and this latest service emphasises our commitment to offering Travelex customers a leading service that combines great value, convenience, and peace of mind,” said PeterMcNally, Oman country manager at Travelex. The Travelex network of stores includes Oman International Airport, which is open 24 hours a day, making the service easily accessible at any hour.
