Hamilton has now chalked up 25 career wins, putting him alongside greats such as Jim Clark and Niki Lauda, and the 29-year-old believes he can steam ahead of the opposition throughout the rest of the season.

He said: “I can’t believe how amazing the car is, and with how hard everyone has worked, the results we are getting are because of that.

“This team is on a roll, they’ve done a great job, but we’re going to keep pushing, keep moving forwards and working hard because we know the others are going to keep pushing.”
