KATHMANDU, July 19: The U-16 national cricket team will begin its ACC U-16 Premier League against Thailand as per the fixture grouping of the championship unveiled by Asian Cricket Council on Saturday.
The championship is scheduled from August 13 to 20 in Malaysia, where along with the host and Nepal, Thailand, Oman, Singapore and Bahrain are participating.
Beginning its campaign against Thailand on August 14, Nepal will then take on Singapore on the 15th, Oman on 17th, Bahrain on 18th and Malaysia on 20th.
The champion of the tournament, to be played in round-robin system, will be determined on the points amassed by the respective teams.
Nepal has been the finalist of the competition, previously organized as ACC U-16 Elite, in 2010 in Kathmandu and 2012 in Malaysia. Nepal was defeated by Singapore in the final in 2010 while Malaysia prevented it from becoming the champion in 2012.
Matches will be played in 40 overs.
