UOB orientation exemption test on Wednesday

Manama, July 5 (BNA): The University of Bahrain (UoB) has announced that it will hold the English language test for exemption from the orientation programme on Wednesday. The test for the students applying for the next academic year will be held on the Sakhir campus (Hall 18).
The Orientation Programme is an intensive programme aiming to develop students’ linguistic abilities in different language skills within one semester.

Director of the English Language Centre (ELC) Dr. Abdulaziz Bulaila said that the test would be restricted to public secondary school students who had scored between 80 and 89.99% and private secondary school students with an average grade below 90%.

Bulaila revealed that the test was optional but recommended to all students in order to be exempted from the orientation programme and directly buckle down to their majors.

“The students who have scored an aggregate of 90% and above in all the English language subjects in secondary school are exempted from the English orientation programme like those who have graduated with a GPA of 90% and above in the secondary school certificate,” he added.

Female students will sit their exams at 10 am and males at 2 pm.

Test-takers are requested to be present half an hour before the test, carrying their identification with them.
