UoB students visit Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina

Manama: April 30 – (BNA): The Deqn of the University of Bahrain (UoB)’s Architectural Engineering College Dr: Nadir Al-Bastaki said that a student delegation from the College had visited Sarajevo in the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina where they met President Bakir Izetbegovi? and also visited Istanbul in the Turkish Republic.

The delegation spent six days in Sarajevo and two days in Istanbul spanning the period April 11-18

The visit aimed to view the architectural culture outdoors and rich environment of historic buildings and diverse heritage. The college has always been keen on imparting in its students practical, field knowledge besides theoretical knowledge.

Professor Mohammed Al-Kooheji said that the visit aimed to view historic relics in Sarajevo and Istanbul as well as the architectural aspects of buildings in both cities to expand and boost students aesthetic sense and insights. Students were accompanied by some of their professors who brought to their attention minutest precise aesthetic, artistic and architectural aspects of Ottoman-era buildings.
