UPDATED: Police confirmed man who went missing on Chipping Norton visit …

A man who went missing for almost two weeks while travelling to visit family in Chipping Norton has left the country and is thought to be returning to his home in Thailand.

Retired engineer John Jamieson, 71, formerly of Chipping Norton, travelled to Britain via Bahrain for a surprise visit to his only daughter, Lynn Youngson, on Thursday, May 21.

Mr Jamieson arrived at Heathrow at around 6.30am and was due to catch a National Express service up to Oxford and from there another bus to Chipping Norton.

However, he never arrived at his destination and all attempts to contact him have gone unanswered.
