Manama, Aug. 31 (BNA): Bahrain’s under-18 volleyball team were given a hero’s welcome after winning the recently-concluded volleyball championship.
The nationals clinched the competition’s trophy for the fourth time in their history after an all-win record at the championship, which took place in Muscat.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with Bahrain Volleyball Association president Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and other high-ranking sports officials, welcomed members of the team on arrival.
Askar said he was proud for this achievement, which was as a result of the team hard working efforts before and during the tournament, in which some of the best rising volleyball teams took part.
He said he was pleased with the performance of the team throughout the championship and lauded the contributions of the Bahrain Volleyball Association, which contributed to the achievement.
Askar also congratulated His Majesty the King’s Advisor for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on this victory.
On his part, Shaikh Ali congratulated each member of the team on this remarkable victory, and noted the high spirit and teamwork of the players in all the matches, which saw them win the title.
