Manama, April26 (BNA) A walking festival was held today under the patronage of Central Governor Mubarak bin Ahmed Al-Fadhel under the theme “Integrating the disabled.. a responsibility and community partnership”.

The Central Governorate organized the event at Al-Estiqlal Walkway in cooperation with Bahrain Mobility International.

The Governor addressed the event commending the Bahraini community for caring for the disabled who achieve and play a key role in various fields.

He stressed the Governorate’s drive to reach out to all societies and centres in charge of people with special needs.

He also paid tribute to the Bahrain Mobility International officials for their initiative to organize the marathon for a good cause.

Bahrain Mobility International Chairman Adel Sultan Al-Mutawa also delivered a speech stressing the importance of supporting people with special needs. .

The festival included shows staged by talented disabled. The Interior Ministry’s police band also took part in the event.
