Manama: Bahrain is hosting “ALWANE Third Regional Summit” on Tuesday under the patronage of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Al Zayani.
The event is organised by Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society in collaboration with Events Starts at Gulf Hotel, Awal ballroom from 5pm-10pm.
ALWANE summit aims to create a unique platform for women entrepreneurs to explore and exchange business ideas and experiences in order to support women. It creates an ideal opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of women entrepreneurship in Bahrain and how to promote women’s role in the economy.
More than 200 businesswomen and participants are expected to attend the event from Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan, Oman and Qatar.
The first ALWANE summit was held in Dubai and the second in Jordan.
“This summit is a very important initiative towards enabling women economically and raising awareness in the community about women related issues. Such events are in line with the society’s goals which focus on enabling women and creating business growth opportunities,” society chairman Ahmad Al Saloom said.
“The summit serves all women societies, businesswomen, NGOs and SMEs. It offers a great opportunity for networking with other global experts,” he added.
Mr Al Saloom also noted that the summit will come up with several recommendations and the society will follow them up with the authorities concerned to enable women and help them to overcome their difficulties.
The summit will witness the signing of two agreements between Bahrain SMEs Development Society and Aafaq Society and Bahrain contractors Society.
“This summit is held in conjunction with the celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day. Bahraini women deserve support and praise for their efforts in building our country,” society’s secretary and ALWANE Bahrain official Ammar Awachi said.
