Women’s role is highlighted

The importance of integrating Bahraini women’s integration in the labour market to achieve sustainable economic, scientific and cultural development was highlighted by Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan.

He was addressing a conference called ‘Women’s contribution in sustainable development,’ which opened yesterday at Crowne Plaza. The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU) is organising the two-day event.

‘Engaging women in the development efforts is key pillar to promote society and achieve progress and prosperity,’ he said, hailing Bahrain’s strides under the reform project initiated by His Majesty King Hamad.

He congratulated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and Supreme Council for Women president for Bahrain’s strides in promoting the status of women.
