World Cup referees for Nasser 7 final

SUPREME Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has directed the organising committee of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Seventh Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 7) to assign Bahraini referees who officiated in some matches of the ongoing Fifa World Cup in Brazil to manage the title showdown on July 20.

The international crew consists of national referees Nawaf Shukralla, Yasser Tulifat and Ibrahim Sabt, who officiated in World Cup matches between Spain and Australia and Portugal and Ghana.

They have also officiated in other Fifa international football events like the Youth World Cup finals in Turkey and Mexico as well as the Clubs World Cup 2012 in Japan.

Al Fakhar take on Al Maseef at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town at 9pm tonight. After winning the first two matches and earning six points, Al Fakhar are the first team from Group ‘D’ to qualify for the next round while Al Maseef are in a difficult position after losing their first two matches.

Khalifa Sports City Stadium will also host the match between Al Reem Real Estate and Fast Link at 11pm tonight. These two matches are last to be held at Khalifa Sports City Stadium.

The remaining matches of Nasser 7 will be held at Bahrain National Stadium.

Playing in Group ‘C’ tonight are Al Nawayef and Bapco. Al Nawayef top the group with six points while Bapco are on a single point from two matches.

Forever and Riffa Fort will play in the same group at 11pm. The match is important for both teams as the winner qualify for the next round.

Forever are on three points and Riffa Fort on one. Both teams need three full points to ensure qualification.

Nasser 7 matches are live on Bahrain Sports Channel. Head of the Channel Fawaz Shamsan said the live telecast will continue till the final on July 20.

The executive committee continue distributing daily cash prizes to lucky spectators attending the matches.
