Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): Information Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi praised today Bahraini youngsters’ outstanding development and creative contributions, referring to them as a pillar of the media and sport movement and a key partner in shaping a brighter future for Bahrain.
He was speaking as he received President of the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS) Hesham Mohammed Al-Jowder. He discussed with him ways of bolstering cooperation in the youth and sport field and boosting the pivotal role of the Bahraini youth in various areas.
The minister underlined the keenness of Bahrain media on highlighting the accomplishments of the Bahraini youth and their contributions to developing the media sector. He also pointed out the importance of awareness media programmes aimed at cementing values of patriotism and tolerance and immunising the youngsters from the scourge of extremism, violence and delinquency.
The meeting reviewed the comprehensive media coverage of “Manama the Capital of Arab Youth 2015” function as well as GOYS’ efforts in developing the youth and sport centres and clubs and enhancing the youngsters’ achievements and creativity potentials, in line with the directives of Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
They also spotlighted preparations for the first Gulf Media Sport Championship on the cup of SCYS First Deputy Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa which will be hosted by Manama next April.
The GOYS President thanked the minister for the attention given by the TV channels and radio stations to the activities of the youth centres and clubs so as to cater for the youngsters’ needs and further engage them in the comprehensive development process.
