Zain contracts Ericsson to manage its network

Zain has signed a four-year deal with Ericsson that will see the Swedish equipment provider manage its network and boost its customer service operations in Bahrain.

“As a telecoms operator, we are confident that this managed services solution will mean that our network and business complexity will be well-managed by Ericsson, leading to cost-effective launches of new services, dependable performance and operational competence,” said Mohammed Zainalabedin, general manager of Zain in Bahrain, in a statement issued late Monday.

Under the terms of the deal, Ericsson will manage the day-to-day operations of Zain’s network, thereby enabling the telco to allocate its resources to its service portfolio, Zain said.

In addition, Ericsson will provide its customer support solutions to improve service quality for end-users.

“By deploying this differentiated solution, Zain Bahrain’s network will operate at upgraded productivity levels, enabling the operator to continue innovating and providing customers with a premium mobile experience,” said Ray Hassan, EVP and head of Ericsson’s Zain customer unit.
