מביא עמו גם הסלמה בתגובות האנטי-ישראליות בעולם. בעוד חבר פרלמנט בבחריין שרף את דגל ישראל במהלך ישיבה, האשים ראש ממשלת טורקיה, רג’פ טאיפ ארדואן, את ישראל בביצוע “טיהור אתני” ברצועת עזה.

במהלך המבצע, התבטא ארדואן 
פעמים רבות נגד ישראל,
וכינה את פעילותה כ”מעשי טרור”. בנאום בוועידה של המועצה האיסלאמית האירו-אסייתית באיסטנבול, אמר אמש ראש ממשלת טורקיה כי “מי שקושר בין איסלאם לטרור עוצם את עיניו לנוכח ההרג ההמוני של מוסלמים ומפנה את ראשו לטבח המתבצע בילדי עזה”. ארדואן הוסיף: “משום כך, אני אומר שישראל היא מדינת טרור שמבצעת מעשי טרור”.

 

אמש שרף אחד מחברי הפרלמנט בבחריין את דגל ישראל במהלך ישיבה שנערכה שם. על פי דיווחים בכלי תקשורת, אוסמה מיהנאה ביקש למחות נגד המבצע, אך הצעד החריג הביא לנעילת הישיבה למספר דקות בשל עשן שאפף את

האולם.

 

בתגובה, האשים יו”ר סיעתו של מיהנאה, אחמד א-סאעתי, כי הוא מבצע פעולות ראווה על מנת להסיט את תשומת הלב. “כולנו בעד פלסטין ואנו תומכים בעזה ונגד התוקפנות הישראלית. אבל לא בפעולות ראווה שלקוחות מהקולנוע”.

 

בכלי תקשורת שונים דיווחו קודם לכן כי שלטונות בחריין לא אפשרו לגורמים באופוזיציה לערוך הפגנות תמיכה בתושבי עזה בשל האיסור על התקהלויות במדינה, שנוצר על רקע הניסיון לדכא את המחאה החברתית.
