Adekoya wins Doha Diamond League 400mH, Kaliese Spencer second

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Kaliese Spencer had to settle for second in the women’s 400m hurdles behind the fairly new Kemi Adekoya of Bahrain at the first Diamond League meeting of the 2014 athletic season Friday in Doha, Qatar.

Adekoya clocked a world leading 54.59 seconds ahead of Spencer’s 55.07 and Eilidh Child (55.43) of Great Britain third.

Top contender, American Lashinda Demus finished fourth in a season’s best 55.67
